The Nature & Art Center needs you! While we work with many good corporate citizens throughout the year to meet the needs of our organization, the lifeblood of our support comes from the citizens of our community who join as members, volunteer their time and expertise, and often contribute. Thank you for your support!
Wings Over Alma, Inc. is a multi-purpose organization seeking to enhance and promote awareness of the Upper Mississippi River environment, eagles and wildlife by advocating conservation ethics through educational programs; and raise the level of arts and crafts appreciation through demonstrations and exhibitions by area artisans.

At our back door is the Upper Mississippi National Wildlife & Fish Refuge. The Center's 50-feet viewing deck (equipped with binoculars and spotting scopes) overlooks the Mississippi River and Lock & Dam #4.
The Upper Mississippi River serves as a major flyway for waterfowl, eagles abound and you may get a rare glimpse of some of Wisconsin's endangered species such as the trumpeter swan or the peregrine falcon. On June 1, 2009 it was designated a Wetland of International Importance. The 27th US wetland to receive this designation and the 2nd in Wisconsin.
Inside the Center local area and regional artists display their work in rotating exhibits. Nature and wildlife water color, oil and photography have recently been exhibited along with wood carvings. Historical societies also provide rotating local history displays. Educational programs are offered throughout the year along with events and demonstrations. Guests can top off their visit by browsing the gift shop or sit for a spell in comfortable seating and enjoy watching the river, the boats and barges locking through Lock & Dam #4, the passing trains and the many soaring eagles fishing for their dinner.
Wings Over Alma Nature & Art Center opened on January 5, 2007. With over 7,000 visitors a year our guests have come from all 50 states and many countries -- all attracted by the magnificent Mississippi River, the talent of our many local artisans and the wonderful National Historic District of Alma, Wisconsin.
As a not-for-profit community organization, the Nature & Art Center depends on donations, fund raisers, volunteers, gift shop sales and grants. Thank you to our many supporters!
